Ana Plaza Roig received an Exploratory Travel Award in March 2022. Ana is a PhD student in Art Theory and History at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina and holds a scholarship to the National Agency of Promotion of Science and Technology (AGENCIA) located in the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero. Ana’s dissertation work seeks to deepen the knowledge of the iconographic programs of the religious temples of the Marquesado de Tojo, an administrative region that encompassed territories of northwestern Argentina, mainly Jujuy, and southern Bolivia between the 17th and 19th centuries. In this extensive domain, diverse ecclesiastical and territorial jurisdictions coexisted in time and space in conjunction with the different administrations of the Marquisate.
