Jennifer Cohen, 20th Century Abstract Painting Research Fellow

Jennifer Cohen is the Thoma Foundation’s inaugural Fellow for the 20th Century Abstract Painting Research Fellowship.

The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation Research Fellowship in Twentieth-Century Abstract Painting will provide an emerging scholar unique access to an exceptional collection of mid-twentieth century abstract, geometric painting for the purpose of pursuing an independent research project. The Foundation’s collection features artworks from 1950–1979, from North and South America, with particular attention devoted to hard-edge, geometric abstraction, Op, and Color Field painting. Overall, the fellowship seeks to provide an early-career scholar with research and professional development experience in close collaboration with a world-class art collection. The fellowship term is one year.
